On July 1, 2011 a wreath will be laid at Beaumont-Hamel in France to remember our fallen soldiers on behalf of people in the Placentia area. This is being arranged by two members of the Placentia Area Historical Society who reside in Scotland, David and Anne McKerrow. Anne, daughter of Bill Kelly of Southeast, Placentia, will place the wreath. A card will be attached with a message provided by Ian Walsh of the Royal Canadian Legion, Placentia branch.
