Held to celebrate the diverse history of the Placentia Area, the afternoon included entertainment, refreshments, period costumes and presentations of awards. Music was supplied by Con Parsons, Walter Parsons and Sadie Ennis.
Heritage Awards were presented to the Atlantic Charter Foundation Inc. of Ship Harbour and to the authors of a folklore book, “Remembers Old Times –The Placentia Folklore Project.”
The Atlantic Charter Foundation Inc. received its award for running a highly successful 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Atlantic Charter last year and for the establishment of a new museum.
