Plans are being made for the holding of the 2017 Tea Party and presentation of Heritage Awards by the Placentia Area Historical Society.
The event will be held on Saturday, August 12, starting at 2 pm.,on the grounds of the O'Reilly House Museum. It will include period costumes, entertainment, refreshments and presentation of awarrds. Heritage Awards will be presented to The Atlantic Charter Foundation Inc. and the authors of a folklore book: Norah Woodrow, Ann Miller, Nellie Woodrow and Eithne O'Keefe. This event also recognize the 150 Birthday of Canada and the 80 Anniversary of the start of a historical committee in Placentia, the second in Newfoundland. During the day there will be free admision to the O'Reilly House Museum.
